A Pets 10 Commandments

Somebody emailed me this ultra-cute little ditty about there being a 10 Commandments For Pets, obviously, ghost written by Fi Fi the french poodle.

Now here comes Butch, ready to give us the no BS bull-dog's version, I think it promotes the same kind of message but without all the syrup. So here goes:

1. Listen up! I'm only going to be around for about 15 years, so any time away from you is going to suck!

2. Just tell me what you want in plain old dogspeak, not baby talk, I will eventually get it.

3. Trust me. Famous last words for a dog I know but I need your trust to maintain my sunny disposition.

4. If I do something wrong don't hold a grudge and whatever you do don't lock me up. I hate that!

5. Communication is everything. Your voice is soothing and even though I don't understand the words I want to please you.

6. You thought elephants never forgot? bloody amateurs, compared to us dogs, who never forget how we are treated and by whom!

7. Before you hit me, just remember that I could rip your throat out if I wanted to! But you can be pretty sure I won't!

8. Before you yell at me make sure if I am off my feed or acting strangely that I am not coming down with some dog ailment.

9. When I am old just give me an old blanket, a warm place to sleep and an encouraging word. Old dogs never die, they remain in our hearts forever.

10. Be strong for me when it's time for me to go and remember how much fun we had together. We may as yet meet again.
